This digital serious game aims to empower men (primary Men especially those working in the private sector and any other interested stakeholder) in taking the role of carer in the family. Through a scenario-driven, choice-based gameplay loop players will learn to recognise care as a shared responsibility across home, social, and community environments as well as identify invisible and emotional labour, such as planning, anticipating needs, and supporting others. Through this game that functions as an education and training tool will help players and especially men to further develop reflection and empathy by exploring how choices affect others, understand the value of taking initiative rather than waiting for others to manage care while exploring complex care situations that require negotiation, prioritisation and collaboration.

The CAREdiZO project aims to close the gender care gap within homes, micro-enterprises, and across micro civil society organizations. Through research, game based learning, and advocacy the project fosters a gender-transformative cultural approach that values care work, combats gender stereotypes, and encourages men and women to share unpaid care responsibilities more equally.

The key objectives of the project are:

-To promote work-life balance policies in micro-enterprises and micro-CSOs

-To challenge gender stereotypes to encourage equal sharing of informal caregiving responsibilities (e.g., childcare, domestic chores, and care of older people) and promote men’s uptake of paternity and parental leave.

-To encourage Mirco-Enterprises and Micro-CSOs to gender mainstream their policies and practices.

-To raise awareness of the value of care work and highlight the soft skills it develops, such as time management, empathy, and problem-solving.
